Top 10 Children's Cartoons (Which Grown-Ups can Watch too!)

Welcome to our first ever blog! This is a bi-weekly addition to our site, where we will be giving you the latest and greatest news on the biggest and best Characters, who your children love!

Today we are looking at the Top 10 Children's Cartoons the Whole Family can watch, making family time more enjoyable for the grown-ups in your family (Including Dad!)

Note : This list has been carefully put together based off of a number of factors, including viewing figures, searches, and survey results. All of our blogs will be bitesize, as we know how difficult it can be trying to get into a good read when we have kids to look after!

So without further ado let's begin!

Number 10 - Thomas & Friends

Can anybody else believe that Thomas the Tank Engine made his Television debut way back in 1984? And now we're part way through the 23rd season, and he's as big as ever. Thomas and Friends is perfect for the whole family, entertaining for the children, and nostalgic for the adults! What's not to love? You can find Thomas & Friends on Channel 5's Milkshake Segment!

Number 9 - Dora the Explorer

The only show on our list to actively feature interactivity, Dora the Explorer gives children a whole new experience when watching television! Unlike most shows, Dora often 'breaks the 4th wall' and speaks to her audience, asking for their help, prompting little ones from around the UK to shout at the television! And like Thomas the Tank Engine, Dora has been around for quite a while, debuting in 2000! You can catch Dora on Nick Jr.

Number 8 - Blaze and the Monster Machines

One of the younger shows on our list, Blaze and the Monster Machines follows the adventures of young techie AJ, and his monster truck, Blaze. Each episode usually features Blaze trying to win a race against their rival, Crusher, encouraging the audience to get behind AJ and Blaze. Unlike the other shows on our list so far, Blaze is relatively young, making his UK debut in 2015, on Nick Jr.

Number 7 - Scooby Doo (Franchise)

Zoinks! We don't really know why this classic isn't higher up on our list, nothing else combines humour, mystery and just all round entertainment, quite like Scooby Doo. If that's not enough to convince you to watch it, then what about if we tell you that it teaches kids some good moral lessons, regarding friendship and togetherness, and above all else, there's a talking dog! You can catch up with Scooby and the rest of Mystery Incorporated on Boomerang!

Number 6 - Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles

What other cartoon ignites such a feeling of excitement as this one? That feeling of nostalgia when you hear the names 'Leonardo', 'Michelangelo', 'Raphael' and 'Donatello'. The latest iteration of the crime-fighting Ninja Turtles began in 2018, and we are currently awaiting for the 2nd series to begin! Rise of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles would make the perfect cartoon to watch for the family, so make sure you surprise your kids with this gem on Nickelodeon.

Number 5 - Spongebob Squarepants

Would it even be a valid list if we didn't at least mention this icon of children's television? This anthropomorphic sponge is always causing mishap in his home of Bikini Bottom, whether it be with his best friend Patrick Star, or at his place of work, the Krusty Krab. This show would be perfect for families, and will never fail to put a smile on the face of all family members! You can find Spongebob on Nickelodeon!

Number 4 - Fireman Sam

Possibly the most famous fireman in the world, Fireman Sam has been on our screens since 1987! Wow! Although the last season ended in mid-2018, you can still catch repeats of this children's favourite show on Channel 5 and Cartoonito.  If nothing else, it will certainly teach your kids some good moral lessons, like trying to always be helpful to the people around them. The make-believe world of Pontypandy is definitely one to be explored with the whole family!

Number 3 - Sofia the First

Now this one is perfect if your little ones love Disney. Not only are we following the adventures of Sofia, a young Princess going on all sorts of adventures, we are following her as she summons other Disney Princesses to help her in times of need. Princesses such as, Cinderella, Belle and Aurora! If you grew up watching the Disney Princess movies like we did, then we're sure that this one will definitely become a family favourite. Sofia and her friends can be found on Disney Junior.

Number 2 - Peppa Pig

A show about a talking pig and her peers! When we say it like that it sounds crazy, but it has become one of the best-loved children's shows of all time. Each episode lasts around 5 minutes, but they are each packed with their own different adventure. Not only that, but it will teach your little ones the importance of family, and friendship. If you still aren't interested, then just focus on the fact that it's based on a family of talking pigs, why wouldn't you want to watch that? Peppa and co can be found on Nick Jr!

Note: Before we announce the show taking our top spot, we'd like to thank you for taking the time to read our first blog! We'd love it if you could let us know what you thought, and what shows would have been in your Top 10!

Number 1 - Paw Patrol

This may not be what you were expecting to see taking our top spot today, but it has to be said that Paw Patrol is one of the biggest children's shows right now! If you're a fan of Scooby Doo, then you should really love this. What's not to love about a group of talking dogs, all with different abilities, who are part of the Emergency Services? It'll teach your kids about friendship, helping others, and belonging, and apart from all of this, Justin Timberlake loves it!

That's it! Let us know what shows would have been in your top 10, and once again Thank You for reading our first blog, we'll see you again in a fortnight!
